After two rounds of voting over several weeks, I am now able to announce the Winners of the Saber Talk Awards 2025.

The way this worked was that after the initial nomination round, fighters ranked the most-nominated players by order of preference, with three points being awarded for a 1st Place rank, two points for 2nd and one point for 3rd.

We’ll begin our look with the five initial categories:

Best Outfit

The Nominees: Alexis Leperlier (16 Nominations); François Ducrohet (9 Nominations); Mickael Khalil (8 Nominations).

This was a closely contested category between Alexis and François, however the latter managed to scrape a single extra point to clinch the victory, an upset given how far ahead Alexis was on nomination count!

  • Winner: François Ducrohet (42 points)
  • Runner-Up: Alexis Leperlier (41 points)
  • Third Place: Mickael Khalil (31 points)

Best Style

The Nominees: Amaury Mouhtajjib (14 Nominations); Mickael Khalil (13 Nominations); Jérémie Pinquier (9 Nominations).

A runaway victory for Amaury here, which is not all that surprising given his incredible performance this season!

  • Winner: Amaury Mouhtajjib (49 points)
  • Runner-Up: Mickael Khalil (36 points)
  • Third Place: Jérémie Pinquier (29 points)

Most Entertaining

The Nominees: Victor Charlu (15 Nominations); Mickael Khalil (13 Nominations).

With Victor and Mickael receiving the vast majority of nominations, there really was no competition between them and the next placed fighter (on only 4 nominations!) which meant that only the two of them qualified through to the second round.

  • Winner: Mickael Khalil (49 points)
  • Runner-Up: Victor Charlu (46 points)

Most Underrated

The Nominees: Alexis Leperlier (6 Nominations); Aurelien Wel (4 Nominations); Florian Tachot (4 Nominations).

The nominees here are only the tip of the iceberg! This category saw a huge range of fighters named, so only the top 3 were selected (based on 1st choice and 2nd choice nominations), despite a lot of players having the same total nominations

  • Winner: Alexis Leperlier (46 points)
  • Runner-Up: Aurelien Wel (37 points)
  • Third Place: Florian Tachot (31 points)

Most Sporting

The Nominees: Alexis Leperlier (8 Nominations); Amaury Mouhtajjib (6 Nominations); Sébastien Bérard (5 Nominations).

This category really shows that even at the top, all players respect one another and help their opponent to get the best out of the fight!

  • Winner: Alexis Leperlier (44 points)
  • Runner-Up: Amaury Mouhtajjib (43 points)
  • Third Place: Sébastien Bérard (27 points)

Exemplar Award

The Nominees: Mickael Khalil (36 Total Nominations); Victor Charlu (32 Total Nominations); Alexis Leperlier (30 Total Nominations).

This award is unique as the nominees were selected based on their total nominations across all other award categories.

  • Winner: Alexis Leperlier (48 points)
  • Runner-Up: Victor Charlu (37 points)
  • Third Place: Mickael Khalil (29 points)

And finally…

Fighter of the Year

This was the big one, we allowed Saber Tour to nominate one fighter they believed, based on their performance across the season, to be declared the Fighter of the Year.

The Nominees:

  • Aurel Amegah1 nomination
  • Mickael Khalil1 nomination
  • Arthur Gautier1 nomination
  • Amaury Mouhtajjib 2 nominations

And the Saber Talk Fighter of the Year 2025, with 4 Nominations is… Jérémie Pinquier!
